Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the eighth specialized academic session of Sahifa Sajjadiyya researchers and instructors held at the Jamkaran Mosque conference hall, Hojatoleslam Mohammadreza Avani said the text should be understood not merely as a book of prayers but as a structured guide to living with purpose and spiritual awareness.
He noted that the central Quranic principle that “truth comes and falsehood vanishes” reflects a constant historical pattern, adding that forces aligned with injustice often resist decline but ultimately fail to endure.
Referring to prophetic history, Aavani said that throughout time, divine messengers confronted entrenched systems of oppression. He cited the struggles of Prophet Abraham against Nimrod, Prophet Moses against Pharaoh, and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) against the tyrannical elite of Mecca as recurring examples of truth prevailing through perseverance and faith.
The scholar said that in contemporary history, revolutionary movements also face sustained pressure and opposition, arguing that moral and spiritual resilience plays a decisive role in overcoming crises and social turmoil.
He emphasized that Sahifa Sajjadiyya provides believers with a framework for navigating difficult choices and moral crossroads. “Imam Sajjad (PBUH) teaches in these supplications that turning to God enables clarity of judgment and firmness in decision-making at critical moments,” he said.
Aavani added that the themes of faith, patience, social responsibility, and resistance against injustice are deeply embedded in the text, making it especially relevant for modern audiences seeking ethical direction amid uncertainty.
The session, titled “Sahifa: The Book of Faith and Resistance,” brought together seminary teachers and researchers to examine the contemporary applications of the classical text in spiritual education and social thought.
